"Marion's abstract paintings exemplify all the merits of a direct technique. Quick, energetic brushwork and spontaneous splashes of vivid color give her work a vibrant, immediate quality, while splendid highlights achieved through exposed white paper enhance the overall sparkle and visual imbact of her creations. A graduate of the Newark School of Fine and lndustrial Art, Marion developed a style that has remained largely unencumbered by the constraints of extensive academic training. While Marion's work has garnered a number of awards over the years, the artist considers one of her most significant achievements to be her role in changing and improving people's perceptions about watercolor. Marion has been a member of the New Jersey Water Color Society since 1965." | |
